Anne Sargent Walker

The subject of my paintings is our complicated relationship with the natural world, both personally and politically, and the content is generally images of people, animals and birds combined with abstract elements. The surface often degrades, peels back or dissolves to reveal layers underneath. Besides celebrating the beauty and complexity around us, they also suggest loss- of habitat, species, the earth itself and of course us.
