Around a Thousand Tiny Corners features large-scale mixed media drawings whose abstract forms resemble living organisms. They flow, expand, and grow in all directions, with intricate details that repeat at different scales. Emmerson's inspiration comes from her lifelong fascination with science and her former work as a surgeon. With her art she translates biology—particularly the ways of cellular structures and biologic systems—into relatable formats.
