Membership

Kingston Gallery is not accepting new members at this time. Please check back in the fall for an update.

Kingston Gallery is one of the oldest artist-run cooperatives in New England, with the mission of showcasing high-quality contemporary art in all media. The gallery is governed, staffed, and maintained by artist/members.

Kingston Gallery Members mount a solo exhibition in the Main Gallery every 2.5 to three years and a solo exhibition in the Project Space in alternating years. Members' group and solo exhibitions are augmented by group exhibitions and events curated by professionals from other institutions. Typically, opportunities arise for exhibiting in any of the three gallery spaces (Main Gallery, Center Gallery, and Project Space) that are not tied to the overarching schedule.

Membership responsibilities include attending monthly meetings (some in-person, some virtual), gallery sitting once a month, and committee work. Financial responsibilities include $150 monthly dues and a $200 non-refundable commitment fee, payable upon acceptance.

  • Applications should include 15 images of recent work, an image description page, a resume, and a 250 to 500-word artist statement; you may include recent reviews or articles and personal website link, if desired. If you are submitting moving images, please indicate a three-minute segment for review by membership.

    Images must be numbered (from 001-015), and formatted as follows: Jpeg format and/or MP4s, 1500 px on the longest side, and 72 dpi.

    Image list should contain the following: Image number, Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Year. Written materials should be submitted as PDF or Word documents.

Associate Membership

Associate Members enable the gallery to meaningfully engage with a number of artists and to exhibit a wide range of high-quality contemporary art. The Associates are a group of 10 who regularly meet throughout the year and participate in many Kingston gallery activities, including organizing, installing, and staffing the well-received Associates' annual exhibition each year. Associate Members pay annual dues of $500 per year.

    Submissions can be made electronically in one of two ways:

    Creating a Google drive folder including all application materials and sharing that folder with info@kingstongallery.com or

    Emailing all materials to info@kingstongallery.com

    Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
