Oct 4-29, 2023

Opening Reception: Oct 6, 5-8pm

Gallery Copy, 2023 (artist’s book, 6”x9”)

Artist Statement:

Gallery Copy is a project related to my 2022 Kingston Show, Untitled Afternoon. It is a collection of poems that I was writing (and revising) at the same time that I was creating (and revising) sculptures for Untitled Afternoon. The book includes 40 poems, each paired with sculptures, studies and studio photographs.

The poems were influenced by experimental writing of the 20th century. They also relate to dyslexia and to my early struggles with reading and writing. Like the artwork, they are small, visual, experimental and eclectic.

Gallery Copy includes a forward by Claire Ogden, Kingston Gallery’s 2022 Emerging Writer.

Artwork in the physical gallery space will include wall vinyl, related photographs and process ephemera.
